Owosso man arrested after allegedly trying to arrange meeting with juvenile

OWOSSO (WJRT) (5/10/2019) - A 30-year-old was arrested Thursday after attempting to arrange a meeting with a juvenile in Owosso for immoral purposes, police say.

The Owosso Police Department was alerted to the situation on Thursday when Zach Peterson of Owosso tried contacting the unidentified juvenile via social meeting to arrange the meeting.

Owosso police detectives say they met Peterson at a predetermined location where he was planning to find the juvenile. Police arrested him on the spot.

Peterson was arraigned Friday on charges of accosting a child for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime. He remained in the Shiawassee County Jail after arraignment Friday afternoon.
