ISABELLA COUNTY (WJRT) (2/12/2019) - Police say three men robbed an Isabella County couple early Sunday, hours after the victims posted a photo of cash on social media.

The photo depicted a large amount of cash and the couple told police they faked it and posted it online as a joke, according to the Isabella County Sheriff's Office.

Nevertheless, police say three men -- one of whom the couple knows -- showed up around 1:20 a.m. Sunday at Timber Creek Apartments in the 3300 block of Deerfield Road in Union Township and demanded the money. Two of the men were carrying handguns.

The suspects demanded the couple, who are both 20 years old, hand over any prescription medication when they learned there was no cash. They were last seen fleeing in an unknown direction.

The sheriff's office says 20-year-old Douglas Gale of Mount Pleasant was one of the suspects. He could be driving a beige Ford 500 sedan with rusted rear fenders.

Gale is named in a pickup order from the Michigan Department of Corrections and a new warrant issued by the Isabella County Prosecutor's Office this week related to the robbery.

Police are asking for the public's help finding him and identifying the other two suspects. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at 989-772-0911 or Isabella County Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000.
