OAKLAND COUNTY (WJRT) (3/15/2019) - Police are looking for the driver who hit a wheelchair-bound 83-year-old and a nursing home employee near Clarkston late Thursday and fled the scene.

The 83-year-old, who is a resident of Clarkston Specialty Healthcare Center at 4800 Clintonville Road, got onto the roadway around 10:15 p.m. An employee went out to help him get off the road and back inside.

A black Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveling north on Clintonville Road hit the 83-year-old and one of a 29-year-old employee, then continued driving north, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. At least one other employee with them was not hit.

The 83-year-old was listed in critical condition at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Pontiac while the employee was listed in stable condition.

Police say the suspect's black Monte Carlo has red writing on the front and sustained damage to the front passenger side. It may also have a faulty rear taillight.

Anyone with information on the Monte Carlo is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 1-888-TURN-1-IN or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
