Police looking for pickup truck driver who hit 5-year-old at Speedway station

CARO (WJRT) (12/20/2018) - Michigan State Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that hit a 5-year-old boy at a gas station and left without providing his name.

The 5-year-old got hit at the Speedway gas station at the intersection of M-81 and M-24 in Caro around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver spoke with the child's parents, but refused to provide his name or any information, according to investigators. He went into the convenience store, made a purchase and left the scene.

The 5-year-old's parents took the child to an area hospital for treatment of a minor foot injury. The child was treated and released the same evening.
