FLINT (WJRT) (12/18/2018) - Premium gas at the Citgo gas station on Ballenger Highway has been given a clean bill of health by the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
Two drivers visiting Flint over Thanksgiving were stranded when their cars broke down after filling up with premium at the Flint station. A state lab test confirmed the premium fuel contained water.
The Citgo shut down its premium and mid-grade pumps while an investigation into what caused water to enter the system was conducted.
The issue was resolved and the station passed a state inspection on Dec. 7.
The station's owner said he is continuing to work with his insurance provider to try and reimburse the two drivers who reported engine problems caused by the bad gasoline.
