UPDATE: Pedestrian hit and killed by semi in Mundy Township early Thursday

GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) - (01/10/2019) - A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a semi truck in Mundy Township.

It happened early Thursday morning around 2:45 a.m. in the 5400 block of Linden Road, just north of Hill Road.

The Metro Police Authority says the semi was traveling north when a 29-year-old Lapeer man walking in the same direction direction in the right lane.

He was transported to Hurley Medical Center, but did not survive the critical injuries.

The road was shutdown for several hours for the investigation.

No names have been released.

(8:00 a.m.) - Police say a pedestrian was hit by a semi truck in Mundy Township on Linden Road near McLeod.

Officers were called to the accident around 2:45 Thursday morning.

They say Linden road will remain closed while they investigate.
