FLINT (WJRT) (4/3/2019) - The Ruth Mott Foundation is giving more than $2 million to support organizations and efforts boosting the quality of life on Flint's north side.

The foundation announced 20 grants on Wednesday benefiting youth, safety, economic opportunity and neighborhoods in the area.

The largest grant is $410,000 to the Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission to support its North Flint Public Safety Strategy.

The next largest grant of $230,000 goes to the Berston Field House to support ongoing youth development programs, community services and other civic engagement activities.

The foundation has supported Berston Field House since 2016, when it launched its north Flint strategy. The new $230,000 grant will augment Berston's share of funding from the Genesee County Arts and Culture Millage.
