Ruth Mott Foundation seeking feedback on north Flint strategic plan

By  |

FLINT (WJRT) (11/30/2017) - The Ruth Mott Foundation is planning two community forums to collect feedback from residents on its work in north Flint.

The forums are scheduled for:

• 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1653 Davison Road.

• 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Flint Development Center, 4121 Martin Luther King Avenue.

The programs include an overview of the foundation's work in north Flint so far, receiving feedback from the public and learning more about groups working directly with people in the area.

The Ruth Mott Foundation shifted its focus to north Flint in 2015 and 2016 on four areas – youth, safety, economic opportunity and neighborhoods. North Flint residents helped select those priorities.

The Ruth Mott Foundation awards about $5 million to $6 million in grants for qualified projects and programs each year, and community input is a critical piece of its north Flint strategic plan.

The forums are family friendly and include a meal. Registration is strongly encouraged because space is limited.

Registration is available at or by calling the foundation at 810-233-0170.
