Saginaw Police searching for Impala connected to Tuesday's murder

SAGINAW (WJRT) - (03/07/18) - It's been a violent week in Saginaw. Police are investigating two separate shooting deaths in just two days.

The most recent happened Tuesday around 4:30 p.m.

Neighbors living along S. 19th Street and Janes Street heard gunshots and called 911.

When police arrived they found Detorrion Liddell, 20, dead in the street.

Saginaw Police detectives are asking for help to find a black or dark blue Chevrolet Impala.

"It may have some window damage to one of the passenger or driver side rear windows, maybe even some taillight damage, there was some red taillight found at the scene," said D/Sgt. Matt Gerow.

Gerow said Liddell was in that car, he likely arrived in it.

It was last seen traveling south on S. 19th after the shooting.

Liddell's murder comes just a day after 34-year-old Anthony Cannon Jr. was shot and killed at this home in the 2800 block of W. Genesee Avenue.

Police with the Major Crimes Unit, made up of Saginaw Police and the Michigan State Police, arrested a 26-year-old woman for Cannon's death.

They believe it was a domestic situation turned violent.

The city's first murder of the year was in January, then in February a mother and daughter lost their lives in a house fire.

State Police believe their family member, Jason Desmone, set the house on fire leading to their deaths.

Saginaw Police feel it's up to community members to help put a stop to all the gun violence.

"Things like this are going to continue to happen unless Saginaw, you know, speaks up and takes their city back by calling when somebody commits a crime like this, you have to call us and say, 'he did it'. That's how you stop it," Gerow said.
