GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) (8/6/2018) - Senior citizens are invited to bowl for free and invited to bring their grandchildren at eight Genesee County bowling alleys Aug. 13 to 16.

The 9th Annual Seniors Bowl Free program invites people age 55 and older to bowl free from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day of the event. They are invited to bring their grandchildren to bowl with them for free.

Instead of paying to bowl, participants are asked to donate $1 or three cans of food to the Senior Box and the Backpack programs through the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. To date, the program has provided more than 27,000 meals to needy individuals in the community.

The event is sponsored by the Flint Senior Bowling Association with support from the Michigan State USBC Bowling Association.

“Bowling is a great source of exercise and an activity the entire family can enjoy together,” said Frank Pepp the Bowl Flint Ambassador. “Seniors Bowl Free is a great program because it allows grandparents to enjoy a fun activity with their grandkids while supporting a great cause.”
