MICHIGAN (WJRT) - (04/15/18) - Strong winds in the Straits area causing the Mackinac Bridge to partially close Sunday morning, according to the Mackinac Bridge Authority.

Winds are blowing across the bridge an excess of 50 miles an hour.

All vehicles except passenger cars, passenger vans and empty pickup trucks, will not be allowed on the bridge.

Officials are asking that you reduce your speed to 20 miles per hour when approaching the bridge, and be prepared to stop.

Officials are monitoring wind speeds to determine when to reopen the bridge fully.
