GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (4/16/2019) - A Genesee County jury convicted the man accused of shooting and killing Vinceedward Robinson outside Kickers Sports Bar & Grill last May.
Darrell Hunter, 49, was found guilty of second-degree murder and four firearms offenses for the incident outside Kickers near the intersection of Saginaw Street and Dort Highway in Grand Blanc Township.
Hunter got into an altercation on the restaurant's outdoor patio and it spilled into the parking lot, where 35-year-old Robinson was shot and killed. Two other people with Robinson also was shot, but she recovered.
Hunter shot Robinson twice in the back before fleeing the scene. Grand Blanc Township police arrested Hunter a couple hours later when he returned to the scene, claiming to be looking for his wallet.
“I want to give credit to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department for their hard work on this case,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton. “Working together, we were able to see justice through and allow the victim’s family to feel a sense of closure.”
Hunter faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced on June 7.
