MIDLAND COUNY (WJRT) (1/3/2018) - Police are looking for a black Ford or GMC panel van allegedly involved in a suspicious situation on Dec. 30.

A 9-year-old girl told the Midland County Sheriff's Office that she was walking a short distance home from a friend's house in the 200 block of Fike Road in Edenville Township when a man tried to lure her over.

Around 4:45 p.m., the van with an "I Heart Candy" bumper sticker pulled into a driveway along the girl's path in Edenville Township and the male driver got out wearing black clothes and a ski mask. He offered the girl some candy and a ride home.

The girl ran back to her friend's house and told her friend's parents what had happened. Midland County sheriff deputies canvassed the area that evening and stepped up patrols in the area to look for the van.

Anyone with information that could help authorities find the van is asked to contact the Midland County Sheriff’s Office shift supervisor at 989-839-4622.
