SAGINAW (WJRT) (12/6/2018) - A chiropractor has been accused of sexually assaulting two staff members while providing treatment at a clinic in Saginaw County earlier this year.

David Lowry

David Lowry, 47, is a chiropractor is from the Gaylord area who worked at Shields Chiropractic for a short time while the doctors were out of town. He is accused of assaulting the workers at an office in Saginaw County.

The alleged assaults happened back in January while Lowry provided adjustments to two staff members' backs. They claim he touched them inappropriately during the treatment.

Lowry was arraigned this week on two courts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct by force or coercion.

Michigan State Police were notified that staff members complained about how Lowry did adjustments to their backs, saying the touching was not appropriate. An investigation began and the charges were issued by the prosecutor's office last week.

One of the chiropractic clinic's owner said no patients have reported any inappropriate touching. When the staff members told their bosses what happened, they immediately called police.

The owner said Lowry was only at the office for a day and a half before he left. Lowry was assigned to Shields' office by MMA Chiropractors out of the Florida, which could not be reached for comment.

It's not clear if Lowry was temporarily assigned to any other offices in Mid-Michigan. His attorney, Jim Piazza, said the accusations are false and his client is looking forward to his day in court.

Lowry was released on a personal recognizance bond and declined to comment on the case.
