UAW says counterproposal could lead to tentative agreement

DETROIT (WJRT) - (10/11/2019) - The United Auto Workers union says on Friday, it had submitted a counterproposal to General Motors.

According to a letter from UAW Vice President Terry Dittes, if GM accepts the proposal, it could lead to a tentative agreement.

The union says the language in the proposal includes economic terms that were approved by the bargaining committee.

Work to reach an agreement is expected to take place over the weekend.
