FENTON (WJRT) - (2/7/2019) - Randa Jawhari was 42 years old when she disappeared on Feb. 11, 2009.
The mother was former actress, author, and artist. She was also bi-polar and had other health issues.
She kept in contact with her family several times a day. When they didn't hear from her, they began to worry.
Her mother went to Randa's apartment the day she was reported missing. When she got there, the inside was untouched. The clothes her mom laid out for Randa the night before were still on the bed, but Randa was missing.
Word of Randa's disappearance caused the Fenton community to rally around the Jawhari family. There were searches made on the ground and in the air.
The community passed out fliers, a billboard went up, and thousands of tips poured in.
However, 10 years later, the family and police are still waiting on the one lead to Randa's whereabouts.
At one time, Fenton investigators had at least two solid leads. The first came from a surveillance camera at Randa's apartment. However it's hard to see the image.
The second lead came from a composite sketch of a man, who witnesses say was last seen with Randa at a dentist office in Flint. Investigators talked to several men over the years who looked similar to the sketch, but they didn't have any luck
Since then, the tips in the case have been slow to come in. Now investigators believe the break in the case will have to come from someone who has first hand knowledge of what happened to Randa.
Until then, the Jawhari family is keeping the faith that a break will come in the case. They are holding on to hope that they will learn what happened to Randa.
Anyone with information that could help locate Randa Jawhari is asked to call the Fenton Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
