Williams Gun Sight Company announces manufacturing expansion

DAVISON (WJRT) - (11/14/17) - Williams Gun Sight Company in Davison has announced that they will be adding a 10,000 square foot addition to their manufacturing facility.

"We're in a small area right now where we're actually producing the sights to where were on top of each other and not enough floor space to add more machinery," said Operations Officer Brian Wright.

Wright says building the addition couldn't have come at a better time.

"There's been a big push for gun related products out there including gun sights, so since more people are wanting guns, that means we need gun sights to put on them. Some of our customers are OEM customers meaning Smith and Wesson, Ruger -- they come to us as a supplier that they need gun sights for their firearms," he said.

And more production means more jobs -- and they're already ahead of the game.

"Over the past year, we've already added on two new engineers, some new office admins just for our manufacturing side, but we do hope to add another 4 to 6 positions over the next year," he said.

And this won't be a first for the company -- in 2016, a 25,000 square foot space was added on for retail space.

The 10,000 square foot addition is expected to be completed by March 2018.
