LANSING (WJRT) (2/6/2019) - Fishermen who love to catch yellow perch had their daily limit filleted in a recent Michigan Department of Natural Resources ruling.
Starting April 1, fishermen can only catch 25 fish daily on Michigan waters. Only Lake Erie will remain at the previous limit of 50 fish.
The state approved the new regulation late last year. The goal is to achieve a better balance between conservation and fishing opportunities.
The DNR says yellow perch is among the most sought after game species in Michigan.
