EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) (10/24/2018) - The Big Ten Conference fined Michigan State University $10,000 on Wednesday for its role in Saturday's pregame on-field altercation with several Michigan football players.

In addition to the fine, head coaches Mark Dantonio and Jim Harbaugh were reprimanded for their roles, as was Michigan linebacker Devin Bush.

The conference issued a statement saying Michigan State violated the Big Ten sportsmanship policy with its trek across the field linked arm to arm confronting the Michigan players already warming on the field.

Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany said in a statement that the conference expects better from the two head coaches. He indicated that the incident is closed and the conference would offer no further comment.
