FLINT (WJRT) - (10/02/15) - The superintendent of Flint Community Schools said Friday morning that all of the drinking fountains in the 11 active Flint school buildings have been shut off and the DEQ went to each school Friday morning and took samples of the water to test.
School officials are making changes to insure the students aren't drinking water that is unsafe.
"I want to say thank you to all of the folks who have donated water. We've received palette after palette of water in the district, so that has been excellent to have the community's support. I will say this, food - our SodexoMAGIC partners - they've made the necessary adjustments so our kids are not consuming any of the water," said Bilal Tawwab, Flint superintendent.
The water taken from the schools will be tested immediately.
